Best iPad Apps for Moms
By Pattie Fitzgerald
Total Baby was picked by Apple as a "staff favorite," and it's easy to see why: The app has everything a new mom needs to log and time all aspects of her newborn's care. From diaper changing and feedings to napping and bath times, this handy tool makes tracking your baby's progress fun and easy.
Baby Geek has many of the same tools as Total Baby, but also includes the "Express Milk Manager," which records the storage of pumped breast milk and estimates its expiration date for you. It can also detect your baby's sleep patterns to help you and your little one get more shut-eye, a temperature graph for fever patterns when baby is sick and a tool that can help potty train your toddler.

Mom Maps
Not sure what to do with your little ones today? Whether it's a sunny day or a wintry mess outside, Mom Maps can find kid-friendly spots in cities such as San Francisco, Philadelphia, New York City, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Portland, and more (new cities are added daily). There's a wide array of parks, playgrounds, museums and indoor play areas to choose from, and the best part is that they've all been reviewed by parents. You'll never hear "I'm bored" again!
Kids Eat For
When the family is ready to head out to eat, check in with Kids Eat For, which will help you find a local eatery where kids can eat for free or at a discount. The app can pinpoint your current location to give you the closest locales (perfect for family road trips), as well as reviews of each establishment.

The average Lose It! user has lost more than 12 pounds and more than 85 percent of its active users have lost weight.
Fitness Express Workouts

It features a variety of 15-minute workout routines targeting all areas, from abs and arms to butt and thighs, plus tips for a total body workout. There are also instructional videos and photos to help you with the routines, and you can log in your workout sessions to keep track of your progress.

Moms are constantly on the run, so who has time to check all of their social networking pages several times a day? Flipboard allows you to create your very own magazine based on your Twitter stream, Facebook page, Flickr network, Google Reader feeds and so on. The layout is easy to read and only picks the best of the best, so you don't have to weed through endless posts to get the info you really want. No wonder it was named Apple's "iPad App of the Year" and one of Time magazine's "Top 50 innovations of 2010."
The Daily
The Daily is the first digital publication with content created just for the iPad. It covers breaking news and sports to pop culture and politics -- all in one place. The app was built by a team of top journalists, making it the only news source you need for your iPad. Free
